  MINIATURE WARKWORTH
The next painting was just as simple as the previous miniautres. But I wanted to get plenty of warmth into it,

Essential Supplies

The items you will need to complete this scene are as follows:-

Watercolour Paint

Hooker's Green
Yellow Ochre
Alizarin Crimson
Burnt Sienna
Charles Evans Sand
Light Red
Raw Umber

Cobalt Blue

Brushes

3/4" Wash brush
No.8 Round
No.3 Rigger

Step 1 :

So a very simply cobalt blue sky, using my ¾” wash brush,.

Step 2 :

Whilst this was still wet I changed to my No 8 round brush and in the base line of the sky dropped in a mix of cobalt blue with a tiny touch of alizarin crimson, this gives the effect of far distant trees.

Step 3 :

As I came further forward there is a little slither of yellow ochre underneath these, again using my ¾” wash brush.

Step 4 :

For the big tree in the foreground for a few branches I did a mixture of raw umber with a tiny touch of cobalt blue using the tip of my no 8 round brush.

Step 5 :

Once this had dried I dropped in a mix of hookers green and raw umber for the foliage followed by hookers green and burnt sienna for the darker foliage.

Finally in the tree and still with my no 8 round brush put in some areas of cobalt blue for the darker bits of foliage.

For the track itself I used a little bit of yellow ochre mixed with the Charles Evans sand and I just blocked this in with my ¾” wash brush.

Step 6 :

The grasses either side were firstly yellow ochre followed by hookers green and burnt sienna. Again with my ¾” wash brush.

Once the whole painting has dried I used my no 8 round brush to apply a mixture of cobalt blue, alizarin crimson and burnt sienna to drag some shadows from the trees across the path.
